Rec Sports To Celebrate John Glenn’s 50th Anniversary of Friendship 7 Flight
The Ohio State University community, including Rec Sports, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of John Glenn's historic flight aboard Friendship 7 this February by offering a variety of events, including Pre-Valentine’s Ball Dance Classes; fitness assessments; the Friendship 7 Indoor Triathlon; the John Glenn Family Space Experience; and free selected group fitness classes. Free Kettlebell Clinics
Looking for a way to get in shape for spring break? Attend kettlebell workout clinics at Rec Sports! Each session is held in RPAC B20 and is led by a certified instructor. Clinics take place Tuesday, February 7, from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m., and Thursday, February 23, from 4 – 5:15 p.m.

Personal Training Certification
Interested in becoming a personal trainer? The World Instructors Training School (WITS) Personal Training Certification course begins Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. in the RPAC. The course is $589 for all Recreational Sports members and $674 for non-members. Register by calling (614) 292-7671. 

2012 Arnold Sports Expo Tickets Available
The 2012 Arnold Sports Festival has donated a limited number of tickets to Rec Sports to give to members! If you are interested, please contact Kris Myers. Tickets are first come, first serve.

The festival, featuring the 24th Annual Arnold Classic, will be held March 1 - 4, 2012 in downtown Columbus and will again feature more than 18,000 athletes competing in 45 sports and events, including 11 Olympic Sports. Events will include professional and amateur men's and women's bodybuilding, fitness, figure and bikini; professional and amateur strongman; gymnastics, martial arts, cheerleading, dance sport, fencing, cheerleading, and many, many more. The 700-booth Arnold Fitness EXPO will offer the latest trends in fitness equipment, apparel, nutritional supplements, and non-stop entertainment on the Arnold Fitness EXPO Stage. Team Buckeye Student Riders Silent Auction
Join fellow Buckeyes in the fight to end cancer. Name your price on items from Kaplan test kits and Target gift cards to President Gee's bow tie at the Team Buckeye Student Riders Silent Auction! All proceeds benefit cancer research at The Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Rec Sports and OUAB
Looking for something to do for Valentine’s Day? Rec Sports and OUAB Grad/Prof are hosting a formal Valentine’s Ball Saturday, February 11, from 7 – 11 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) at the Ohio Union Performance Hall. For just $10 per ticket for graduate and professional students or $15 per ticket for faculty and staff members, a memorable Valentine’s evening will be planned for you! Ticket prices include two drink tickets, full dinner and dessert, dancing, entertainment, and free on-site childcare. Tickets available through DTIX at the Ohio Union. Learn more.

ZUMBA® for a Cause
ZUMBA® with BuckeyeThon on Sunday, February 12, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the RPAC South Gym. Admission to the class is only $5 with all proceeds going to Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Jesse Owens North Lockers Relocated
The day use lockers at Jesse Owens North (JON) have been relocated to the east wall adjacent to the water fountain in the main space. Please use the new location for your storage needs. 

Intramural Pickleball, Arm Wrestling Tournaments to be Held
There’s still time to participate in upcoming intramural small tournaments. Pickleball will be held Sunday, February 12, with arm wrestling taking place Sunday, February 19. The registration deadline is the Thursday before the tournament in the Intramural Sports Office. Registration costs $5, and the first 40 to sign up receive a free T-shirt!

SPDA 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
Compete in the Second Annual Student Professional Development Association (SPDA) 3-on-3 Tournament February 11, 2012, in the RPAC South Gym. Team entry fees are $30 and a cash prize will be awarded to the finalists in the men's and women's brackets. Register at the RPAC Welcome Center.
