First Recycling Collection June 4th - Select Neighborhoods

First Recycling Collection June 4th – Select Neighborhoods
RecyColumbus residential recycling collection starts Monday, June 4, for Phase One neighborhoods in the west, southwest and northwest part of Columbus. Eligible households are filling the blue recycling carts with aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard and glass that now will be recycled rather than buried in the landfill.

The service is provided at no additional cost to Columbus city residents who live in a single family home or building of four attached units or less that is not part of a complex. Recycling collection will alternate with yard waste collection every other week. On collection day, residents can simply roll the cart to the same location as their trash container for pick up.

“Together, we can keep tons of recyclable items out of the waste stream and put them back into use,” said Erin Miller, City of Columbus Environmental Steward.

For a list of items that can be recycled and a printable collection schedule, visit http://www.RecycleColumbus.org.

Cart Delivery Begins Soon for Phase 2 Neighborhoods!
Neighborhoods in southern and southeastern Columbus will receive blue recycling carts from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, July 14. Recycling collection for these areas will start on Tuesday, July 31.  Best news is no sorting is necessary. When you get the cart, start using it right away.
