Columbus City Council Holds Reorganization Meeting
Ginther Re-elected President, Miller Elected President Pro Tem

The Columbus City Council unanimously re-elected Andrew J. Ginther President of City Council during Council’s reorganization meeting held Tuesday night.    Ginther, a Councilmember since 2007, has served as President of City Council since January 2011 and has previously chaired the Finance & Economic Development, Public Safety, and Utilities Committees.

“I would like to thank my Council colleagues for their continued support and vote of confidence in my leadership,” said Ginther.  “2012 will be another exciting year for City Council as we work to build a stronger, safer community while growing business and job opportunities for our residents and the central Ohio region.”

Ginther, his wife Shannon and young daughter reside in Clintonville.

The City Council has also elected A. Troy Miller President Pro Tem.  Miller, a Councilmember since 2009, has chaired the Administration and Zoning Committees and leads Council’s E-Council Initiative to make City Council documents and proceedings more accessible for the public.

“I am honored to be elected President Pro Tem of Columbus City Council,” said Miller.  “I look forward to my expanded leadership role to help make City Council an open, transparent body.”

Miller, his wife Ylonda reside on the Far East side and have three sons.
