March Meeting with Guest Speaker Jim McCormac from Columbus Dispatch
Tuesday, March 29 at 7:00 PM at Worthington Library - North West branch on
Hard Road.
Jim McCormac, author of Birds of Ohio (2004), will be presenting on the
importance and value of streams in Central Ohio. He is an avian education
specialist with the Ohio Division of Wildlife and writes a nature column
for the Columbus Dispatch. For more information and updates on FLOW events

Tree Planting
Saturday April 9th from 9 am-noon at Whetstone Park at 3923 N High St,
Columbus, OH 43214.
Battelle Rivers and Stream team, FLOW, and Columbus Parks will be planting
1200-1500 seedling trees at the Whetstone Park Casting Pond area to the
west towards the Olentangy River. Battelle will also be hosting a cookout
for all the volunteers. Please mark it on your calendar and bring a shovel
and gloves. Thanks!
OTHER EVENTS
Adena Brook Cleanup: Sat. March 12, 9-11a.m. (weather permitting) to pick
up litter and ready the Rain Garden for its coming season. Sign in and
supplies are at Overbrook & High St., Overbrook & Yaronia; Overbrook &
Canyon; Overbrook and Indianola or work on your own time to rid the litter
and maintain the beauty of our ravine community. (Please report hours
worked and bags collected to annflorentine@gmail.com )
Invasive species removal : Sunday April 3rd at Anheuser Busch Park (4990
Olentangy River Road) from 12-3 pm. See website calendar for confirmation
of time.
A boyscout is working with Columbus Recreation and Parks to remove invasive
honeysuckle as part of his Eagle Scout project. Invasive honeysuckle
crowds out other native plants which impacts the ability of wildlife to
find food and shelter. Please come and help remove the honeysuckle.
Please wear closed toed boots and pants. If you have leather gloves,

Third Annual Chapter Meeting of the Midwest-Great Lakes SER Chapter to be
held April 1 to April 3, 2011 at the University of Illinois Springfield.
