Columbus City Council Holds Hearing
on Adult Gaming Parlors

WHAT:
The Columbus City Council is holding a joint public hearing of the Safety & Judiciary and Development Committees to discuss adult gaming parlors in Columbus. In October 2011, Councilmembers approved a six month moratorium on the expansion of these businesses. In April 2012, City Councilmembers approved a 90 day extension of the moratorium as state leaders worked to define their role in creating uniform statewide regulations. The hearing will bring together community leaders and representatives of the City Attorney’s Office to discuss the impact these businesses have on our neighborhoods and families, possible local regulations that could impact their expansion and operation, as well as potential state action to put in place comprehensive guidelines. Speaker slips will be accepted on the day of the hearing until 5:30 pm. The meeting will be broadcast live on CTV, Columbus’ cable access channel 3 on local cable systems.
