The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., at Fairmoor Elementary School, 3281 Mayfair Park Place. ![]() Are you a High School student (or a parent of a high school student) thinking about attending college? Then you should attend the Blueprint:College workshop sponsored by I Know I Can. The first workshop, College Bound, will be held Tuesday, November 13, at the Columbus State Workforce Development Bldg, 315 Cleveland Ave., from 5 - 8 p.m. Dinner will also be provided. For more information, and to register, visit the I Know I Can website or call (614) 233-9510. ![]() Northland High School students recently finished in the top two positions of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Local Try-Math-Alon. After 30 minute individual math tests, the teams then faced a one-hour engineering contest consisting mostly of Physics-related work, and then a Jeopardy-style Quiz Bowl where they were challenged by questions about algebra, geometry, numbers and operations, data analysis and probability. Finishing first was Northland Gold - Angela Holley, Justin Hill, Kumar Dhital, Martine Montero, and Jillian Deas. Northland Nation - Jasmine Winston, Viet Nguyen, Walid Musa, Jesse Umoette, and James Strickland - came in second. Both teams now advance to the regional NSBE competition in Chicago.
