Earth Day work day April 16, 2011

Hello NECKO Gardeners and Past NECKO Volunteers!
We are once again participating in the Earth Day Clean Up Day! This year it is April 16, 2011 - this Saturday. I know it is terribly, terribly short notice, but if you have time and are willing to work this Saturday to help get the garden ready for the season, we'd love to have you. We will have another work day later in April, possibly the 30th, just in case we don't get a lot of volunteers because I'm so tardy in getting the word out.

Incentive to come this Saturday - tokens for ice cream or beer at the Earth Day Celebration at Franklin Park Conservatory on Saturday, April 23rd from 11am-10pm. FIRST, you'll need to register for the work site at
http://www.lightenup2011.org/get-involved/
click on Volunteer and look way at the bottom of the list for Wheelchair Accessible Garden. Yes, regular NECKO garden participants need to register as well.

We have several different "tasks" to cover, so there will be no shortage of choice for your labors. I'll be picking up tools from the Mobile Tool Library, but if you have a rake, shovel, or hand held tiller, don't be shy in bringing them.

If you can't come on Saturday, but would like to work on Sunday instead so you can get your token, please let me know. I'm happy to work around schedules since I've been behind in getting this out to you.

Thanks to everyone for your help in the past! We look forward to another great year of gardening.
