Hello Gardeners,
I just wanted to check in with everyone. We have a garden meeting scheduled for tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 27th from 7:30-8:30pm at 1531 Perry St, the Creative Living lobby.
This meeting will be centered around decisions for planting things in the community plot over the next couple of weeks. The official "SAFE" date for any plant not able to withstand frost is May 14th. May 14th will be a work day for the garden, so if you are planning to participate this year, please plan to be at the garden sometime between 10am and 11am on Saturday May 14th. After this, our next garden work day will be June 11th.
I've attached the garden rules again, in case anyone missed the attachment sent out by Catherine Best two weeks ago. There have been a few changes this year, but these things are all for the good of the garden and our community. Please do take the time to read it and print out the last couple of pages, complete them, and get them to me by June 11th. My address is below for mailing, but you may also bring the documents to a garden work day on May 14th or June 11th.
If you are planning to have an individual plot, please send your documents along with the $30 fee (remember, $20 of it is REFUNDABLE). Fees cover expenses related to water, soil, and labor to till the plot. We tilled all plots and added amendments on April 16th, so your plot is ready to grow great things! I'll have an update next week about what plants we will have available, but it will be limited. Please do secure your own seeds for direct sow veggies.
