RPAC Upper Gym to Close May 12
The floor in the RPAC Upper Gym will undergo repairs starting May 12 for four weeks. Open recreation space for indoor volleyball will be held at the Adventure Recreation Center. Please see the Open Recreation Schedule for changes at http://recsports.osu.edu/activities/open-recreation
Intramural Chess Tournament
Checkmate! Enter the intramural chess tournament, featuring 20-minute timed games, on Sunday, May 22, 2011, from 4 - 8 p.m. at the RPAC. There is no fee to enter. Register at the Intramural Office in RPAC B147 (behind Juice 2) by May 20.
OAC Canoeing Trip
Register for a canoeing adventure that offers beautiful views of the lakes, cliffs, and canyons by registering for the Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) trip to Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota June 10-18. The fee is $350 and covers transportation, equipment, food, lodging, and instruction. Register by May 27 at the OAC. Space is limited!
Magic School Bucks for Ages 3 and 4
Drop your three and four year olds off for Magic School Bucks this summer! Their imaginations will soar as they participate in all the best Recreational Sports has to offer, from gymnastics to story time, from crafts to science, and everything in between! Our child-centered program is designed to enhance the development of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth through creative, imaginative play, high-energy games, arts and crafts, and other age-appropriate activities. Summer Rec Sports Memberships
Stay in shape this summer! Spring quarter memberships expire on Sunday, June 19. Summer memberships are available to purchase beginning May 1, even if you aren't enrolled in classes or are enrolled in less than four credit hours this summer. Any student currently enrolled for spring 2011 can purchase a summer membership for the quarterly rate of $82. Semester students summer dates run May 15 - August 20, while quarter students summer dates are June 12 - September 20. Visit the RPAC Welcome Center or the front desk at the Adventure Recreation Center (ARC) for assistance.
Swim Lessons Just in Time for Summer
Community Programs is offering an end of spring two-week Learn-to-Swim program to help your child become more comfortable in the water before summer fun! This session will meet Monday through Thursday for two weeks during the weeks of June 6-9 and June 13-16. Class levels range from parent/child up to Learn-to-Swim level 3, including all levels of preschool aquatics. Registration is open from May 2 through June 1 and spots are limited so register soon! WITS Personal Training Certification Class for Summer
Want to become a personal trainer? Registration is now open for the World Instructors Training Schools (WITS) Personal Training Certification class for summer beginning Saturday, June 18, at 9 a.m. in the RPAC. Testing will be held on July 30. The cost for this course is $489 for all Recreational Sports members and $539 for non-members. To register, call (614) 292-7671, and then dial 0 to register.
